The Holy Grail of Musicals Coming to North Shore Music Theatre

BEVERLY – The funniest show on earth is coming to spread laughter and merriment throughout the kingdom of the Beverly. Audiences will join King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table at Bill Hanney’s award-winning North Shore Music Theatre as they present Monty Python’s Spamalot from September 27 through October 9.

The 2005 Tony Award Winner for “Best Musical” is an outrageous comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It tells the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail.

Producer Bill Hanney reminds audiences to leave the kids at home for this one, but pack their sense of humor for a night of laughs that only the comedic geniuses behind Monty Python can provide. There are certainly a few departures from the beloved legend, but a few flying cows, killer rabbits, a bevy of beautiful show girls, and show-stopping musical numbers make for the perfect tale.

“I am extremely excited to bring Monty Python’s Spamalot to North Shore Music Theatre audiences,” said NSMT owner and producer Bill Hanney. “This outrageous comedy is the perfect way to continue this remarkable season. We always save this time in the schedule for a show that appeals to a more adult audience, and this gut-busting musical is just that!”

Additional Free Audience Enrichment events: Meet the Theatre: post-show audience discussion with the artists on October 4 after the 7:30 pm performance and October 8 after the 2 pm performance; OUT at the North Shore, an evening for the Gay and Lesbian Community with a post-show reception (sponsored in part by Ryan & Wood Inc.) on October 6 after the 7:30 pm performance.
