Ed Davis & Richard DesLauriers to Share Stories of Boston Marathon Bombing Response

salem-state-series-novSALEM – The long-running and popular Salem State Series will bring its latest speakers together on November 3, 2016 when Former Commissioner of the Boston Police Department Edward Davis is joined by Former Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Boston Field Division Richard DesLauriers. The event will be moderated by Lisa Hughes of WBZ-TV with tickets on sale beginning Tues. September 20.

Preceding the 2016 presidential election and the release of the movie Patriot’s Day, Davis and DesLauriers will share their stories of the events of the Boston Marathon bombing, responding to terrorist attacks, tracking down the offenders, and rebuilding community confidence. They will also discuss homegrown terrorism that has shaken our country and the world. The discussion will be moderated by award-winning journalist and WBZ-TV news anchor Lisa Hughes.

A portion of the proceeds from the November 3 Salem State Series event will benefit a scholarship created in memory of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier, a 2009 Salem State graduate who was killed in the days following the Boston Marathon bombing. The scholarship was named in his honor by his family, friends, and Salem State University’s criminal justice department.
