REVERE – Our team has been visiting America’s First Public Beach for the last week as the 2016 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival. We have been there for it all from the delivery of 462 tons of fresh sand to the centerpiece construction, solo and duo competitions, and the awards ceremony. Congratulations to organizers at the Revere Beach Partnership, the creative team from  Sanding Ovations, the twenty sculptors, and the entire lineup of sponsors, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, the City of Revere, and the Massachusetts State Police who make it all possible.

Revere Beach was officially opened to the public 120 years ago on July 12, 1896. The annual festival draws upwards of 900,000 spectators from all over the country in a renewed effort to celebrate the heritage of this historic site. This year’s competition included both solo and duo events for the second year, and 20 sculptors have come from around the globe to participate in the festival.
