The Dockside Restaurant to Help Homeless Families, Cooking Side-by-Side with Celebrity Chefs at A Family Affair Gala
MALDEN - Housing Families Inc. (HFI) is proud to feature six of Boston’s most prominent chefs and seven local restaurants, including Malden’s own Dockside Restaurant, at Housing Families’ 25th Anniversary Celebration, “A Family Affair Gala”. This delicious tasting event will take place on Saturday, November 10th at the Seaport Boston Hotel in Boston’s vibrant Seaport District, and will highlight the local flavors that have made the Boston area a sought after destination for foodies. The gala represents 25 years of Housing Families’ work to end family homelessness in Massachusetts.
The Dockside Restaurant on Centre Street was opened in 1992 by the Urbaczewski family. Managed and operated by Jack and his daughter Lisa, the Urbaczewskis really understand the importance of family. The family has worked together through numerous other concepts and a variety of locations. Some of these locations include City Hall Pub, Jimmy’s Café, Mallside Restaurant, Chelsea’s Restaurant & Bar, International Pub, Rockefellers Nightclub, TJ’s Roadhouse, Dockside Nahant, and Dockside Wakefield. The Dockside serves American cuisine and typical plates consist of large portions of high-quality foods at affordable prices. The wide array of options on the menu satisfies all palates and can be paired with imported beer, wine and liquor. Sporting events are featured on TVs daily and full lottery service is offered as well. Each of their four locations hosts private functions, fundraisers, and events throughout the year. All of this underlies what the Urbaczewskis are known for: their warmth, compassion and willingness to help their community.
When asked to participate in the Housing Families event to benefit struggling families, the Urbaczewski’s jumped at the opportunity. Lisa said, “We are so fortunate to have such an amazing organization as Housing Families in our community helping many people in need. The management team and programs at Housing Families are true assets to the people of Malden and surrounding communities. We are particularly impressed with the quality of the after school program for children.”  Lisa went on to explain what sets Housing Families apart from other agencies: “We just love Housing Families, all the hard work that everyone there does during such a difficult time for many people. The gala is a wonderful way to raise money for this fantastic organization.”
