MEDFORD/MALDEN – The 6th Annual Medford Invitational Challenger Day Event for Children with mental and physical disabilities will be held at Bruce Field in Malden on August 19. Challenger Day is an all-star celebration of these very special athletes.
Mayor Gary Christenson and the City of Malden will host the event, which will feature state and local government officials along with Wally the Green Monster, Pat the Patriot, Blades the Boston Bruins Bear, Miss Massachusetts, Natalie Pietrzak, The US Coast Guard Color Guard, and much more.
The Medford Invitational Tournament Challenger Day Committee is reaching out to the local business community to help support the event. The committee is also seeking volunteers to help with the event, which includes the care of over fifty athletes. After the game, the over 300 athletes, volunteers, and fans are treated to lunch which is provided by local restaurants.
