CHELSEA – According to a press release from House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo & Representative Kathi-Anne Reinstein, the Chelsea Street Bridge will experience a 12-hour closure on Saturday, July 28th from 6AM to 6PM as well as two or three closures during the month of August for testing.
The bridge is regularly open to traffic 24-hours a day, however, advisory notices will go out regarding the closures.
The $42m bridge project has been hailed by DeLeo, Reinstein and other local and state leaders as an important piece of regional infrastructure.
“It is reliable, and with that reliability comes convenience and commerce to be carried over it for decades to come,” said Reinstein.
Aside from these planned tests, motorists and businesses can rely on the bridge for its connection to and from Chelsea, Logan Airport and Downtown Boston, as well as points north and south.
