Lifelong Maldonian Staff Sgt. John Person retires following 40 years of service in the US Army

MALDEN – Staff Sgt. John Person, a lifelong Maldonian, retired from the U.S. Army after 40 years of service recently, and was presented with a citation from Mayor Christenson who thanked him for his many years of service to our country.

NoBo Editor-in-Chief Keith Spencer has known the Person family for over a decade, and called the Staff Sergeant “a fantastic father, wonderful husband, and superb soldier” upon his recent retirement.

“With repeated deployments over the years and a consistent dedication to his job, Staff Sgt. Person and his family are a fine example of the millions of men and women who sacrifice and dedicate their careers and family to helping advance the mission of our military,” Spencer said.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Staff Sgt. Person for his service and dedication to the United States.
