Everett robbery suspect arrested following pursuit

EVERETT – Everett Police arrest an armed robbery suspect for a robbery that occurred Friday at Sam’s Spa, 178 Chelsea Street. Arrested was Michael Moynahan, 40 of Everett.

Just before 10 pm Everett Officers in a marked police cruiser observed a male waving to the police and pointing at another male, later identified as Moynahan, who was wearing a mask, carrying a large knife getting on a bicycle.

Moynahan fled on the bicycle down South Ferry Street but was stopped by police on Crescent Street and arrested without incident.

Recovered during the arrest was a knife, a black ski mask, a scarf, the bicycle and $265 in US Currency. Moynahan fits the description of a party wanted in several other convenience store armed robberies in the area, the cases remain under investigation.

The suspect will be arraigned today for Armed Robbery charges in Malden District Court.

All charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
