Opening Day of Ansel Adams Exhibit

The beautiful images of the American landscape shot by one of the world’s best loved photographers are coming to the North Shore!  Celebrating [Ansel] Adams is an exhibit not to be missed.  Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist who passed away in 1984, best known for his black and white photographs of the American West, especially of Yosemite National Park.  Adams helped develop a method called the Zone System as a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast of the final print. The resulting clarity and depth of his photos ultimately became a new and distinct category of photographs.  Adam’s stunning images of America’s mountains and rivers can absolutely take your breath away.

Opening Day will feature gallery tours starting at 11am and 2pm.  Tickets will be available the day of at the admission desk.  From 3 to 5PM, there will be a film presentation by Michael Dow, doctoral candidate at New York University and teacher of film and animation studies at Northeastern University.  He will present works of experimental filmmakers from Adams’ time who explored sequence and time through their films, as Adams did in his photographs.
