Rizzo to hold public meeting regarding Office of New Revere Residents
REVERE – Mayor Daniel Rizzo will be holding a public meeting in the City Council Chambers on Wednesday February 22nd at 6:00pm to gather input from the community regarding the establishment of an Office of New Revere Residents.
Mayor Rizzo would like to extend an invitation to you, your family, and friends to attend this public meeting to get input on the establishment of this new office within city government.
“The goal of the Office of New Revere Residents is to create a fully inclusive Revere.
Revere welcomes all residents from our many countries of origin to fully engage in the life of our community” stated Mayor Rizzo. Rizzo went on to say, “We need to know things about new residents moving into our community such as, What information and resources do new residents need to be at home in Revere? What would help newcomers become more active in business and government? What would encourage newcomers to not only register to vote, but actually take part in the actual election(s) at the polls?”
“Revere has grown more diverse over time; we must see to it that the heart and soul of this proud community beats on as one. That is why I am calling for the creation of this Office of New Revere Residents that will initially be staffed with volunteers from within our community. Its purpose will be to provide assistance to new residents and to strengthen the ability of our diverse cultural and linguistic community so that they take a more active role in the economic, civic, social, and cultural life of the city of Revere,” commented Rizzo.
