Take a look at the ideas and events we have to offer to keep the kids busy and out of the house next week. Shapeshifting is a new art exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum that looks at Native Americans. Watch cougars, black bears and other animals have fun in the chilly temps, and learn about unique animal adaptations to the winter weather. Stone Zoo has developed original activities to keep them stimulated and content. Come and see all the creative things they do for the animals, and learn how the zoo keeps them active and engaged from December-March. Encounters with specific animals such as coyotes and otters run at designated times on the hour or half hour.

Ski & Tube with a Legend at Nashoba Valley
Although there’s no snow on the ground in your neighborhood, there is snow at Nashoba Valley ski area. The mountain is 100% open with all lifts, trails, and tubing lanes ready for a fun day of riding and skiing. Aside from having an option for everyone of all skill levels, this weekend starting on Friday, you can meet and ski with freestyle legend Wayne Wong. Inventor of the Wong Banger, and hot-dog pioneer, Wayne is credited with developing the style of skiing and promoting the sport of freestyle skiing. His career highlights include: The 1973 Europa Cup Freestyle Champion, Ski Magazine’s Top 100 Skiers Of All Time, Olympic torch bearer for the 2002 Olympic Games and Canadian Ski Hall Of Famer.
For school vacation week, Nashoba Valley is also offering a 3-Day Lesson and Lift Ticket for $185. Vacation is the perfect time to visit the famous Nashoba Valley Ski School to learn how to ski. No need to do all that driving to New Hampshire or Maine!
