Gas up seven cents, eighth consecutive week of increases

MASSACHUSETTS – Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up seven cents this week, the eighth consecutive week of increases, according to a press release from AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s February 13 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.569 per gallon, seven cents more than a week ago and 16 cents higher than a month ago. The current price is five cents above the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.51. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.11.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents, from a low of $3.45 to a high of $3.79. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
