Gas up another 2 cents in Massachusetts

MASSACHUSETTS – Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up two more cents this week, the seventh consecutive week of increases, according to a release from AAA Southern New England.

In Massachusetts, self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline costs drivers an average of $3.499 per gallon, two cents more than a week ago and 12 cents higher than a month ago. The current price is one cent above the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.48.

AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Their fuel saving tip of the week reminds drivers they should also lighten the load to save fuel. Don’t haul unnecessary weight in the passenger compartment, trunk, or cargo area of your vehicle as a heavier vehicle uses more gas.
