Gas up another 5 cents, marking sixth consecutive increase
MASSACHUSETTS – According to a release from AAA Southern New England, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up five more cents this week, marking the sixth consecutive week of increases. Prices are up 18 cents over the last month and 37 cents over a year ago.
AAA’s January 30 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.479 per gallon. The current price is also five cents above the national average.
Remember, keeping a car running properly helps achieve maximum fuel economy according to AAA. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule, and do not ignore vehicle warning lights that indicate something is wrong. Warning lights can signal problems that will greatly decrease a car’s fuel efficiency.
