The honor recognizes an elected official who has made a significant contribution to community planning. The award was given to both Senator DiDomenico and Representative Linda Dorcena Forry for their work as chairs of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business as well as for their support of the Community Preservation Act, a bill co-sponsored by both legislators.

“I am honored to receive this award from the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association,” said Senator DiDomenico. “Our committee has worked diligently this year to advance legislation such as the Community Preservation Act, which will help strengthen neighborhoods and allow our communities to stay strong and thrive.  We look forward to continuing this important work during the next year.”

The American Planning Association Massachusetts Chapter (APA-MA) is an official Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) that provides leadership in the development of vital communities by advocating for excellence in community planning, promoting education and citizen empowerment, and providing the tools and support necessary to meet the challenges of growth and change.
