Gas up 5 cents, above national avg.

MASSACHUSETTS – According to AAA Southern New England, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up five cents to start the new year, marking the second straight week of higher prices. AAA’s January 3 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.299 per gallon, five cents more than a week ago and eight cents higher over the last two weeks. The current price is two cents above the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.27. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.03.
