Boston Named Drunkest City of 2011 by The Daily Beast has once again released its list of drunkest cities in America, and Boston has come in at the top slot.This was the second time the website compiled the data, with researchers analyzing market data.

With a population over age 21 of 4,750,296, the average person consumed 15.5 drinks per month, with 7.4% considered heavy drinkers and 20.1% considered binge drinkers.

Springfield, MA came in second with a population over the age 21 at 507,679 and an average of 14.6 monthly drinks consumed per person. The city and its surrounding communities are home to several universities. 9.2% of the population are considered heavy drinkers while 19.5% are considered binge drinkers.

Milwaukee, Reno and San Antonio finished the top-5 with another New England city, Burlington, VT, checking in at number 11.
