Police Work Murder Investigations North of Boston

ANDOVER/PEABODY – Sources of The Eagle-Tribune confirmed this weekend that the highly publicized murder of a North Andover millionaire couple was committed “execution-style”, shot in their Orchard Crossing mansion last Tuesday.

Investigators are still working the case, and the family of the victims have been full cooperating according to the reports. The two children of the Magees issued a statement through the Essex County District Attorney’s office, calling their parents’ murder a “tragic and senseless crime.”

They also thanked investigators, and asked the public for privacy and “time to grieve and deal with this tragedy.”

In Peabody, authorities have said two people have died after being shot during a party early Sunday morning. Peabody police say Richard Duran, 24, was found dead in his Aborn Street home on Sunday morning. Jonathan Ramos, also 24 and from Peabody, arrived at Salem Hospital not long after with fatal gunshot wounds.

Police did not immediately identify a suspect, but have said the shootings were not random. According to police, everyone involved in the incident knew each other.

The shootings remain under investigation as of Monday morning.
