Residents, Businesses Surveyed by Malden Mayor-Elect Christenson
MALDEN – Mayor-Elect Gary Christenson is polling residents and businesses as he prepares to take over the top position in Malden. Mayor Richard Howard will be exiting early in the New Year, and take the helm as manager in Winchester.
The four areas being assessed in the survey are (1) resident communication with city government, (2) experiences on doing business in Malden, (3) the Mayor’s Housing Task Force, and (4) overall operations of city government.Residents should visit www.cityofmalden.info. Area businesses are invited to share their views by visiting an online survey at www.cityofmalden.biz.
“We are hoping to get a tremendous response from residents and business owners so we can identify clear plans of action for addressing these topics on day one,” stated Christenson. “As I said repeatedly on the campaign trail, communication is the key and we’d like residents to tell us how they want to communicate.”
Christensen has also announced the members of his transition team, who have already begun their work in helping assess the same four aspects before he takes office on January 2nd.
Greg Lucey, who had been previously announced as the Transition Chair, will work with Liz Hart, Patrick Hayes, Mai Du, Craig Spadafora, Maria Luise, Mostafa Elbadaoui, Judy Bucci, Stephen Winslow, Teddy Louis-Jacques, Kathleen Manning Hall and Kevin Duffy in the efforts to create a smooth transition for Christensen.
“I am very happy with the caliber of the team as we have drawn professionals from the ranks of the residents, the business community, and elected officials and I know that they are up to the task that I have charged them with,” said Mayor-Elect Christenson.
