This week, our editors began to focus on the coming holiday. With just three weeks until Christmas, so many shoppers have not even started. Whether they dread the madness and mayhem that accompanies the season or simply don’t have as much in the wallet this year, this apps are sure to help make Christmas shopping easier this year.
1. Santa’s Bag Christmas Gift List
Santa’s Bag Christmas Gift List app will help organize your gift list this year, importing names from your contact list. Gifts can be sorted by recipient, store, and status, which can be designated as “to buy, purchased, wrapped, or given”. Even track how much you spend, use the passcode feature to keep your list from spying eyes, or backup your data to Dropbox. 2. Simon Malls
Being on the North Shore of Massachusetts and as someone who rarely even enters the mall in the first place, the Simon Malls app is perfect to help find out what the latest store listings and interior maps are for both the Square One in Saugus and North Shore in Peabody. With more than 300 locations nationwide, the app is perfect for shoppers everywhere to “upgrade their trip” to the local Simon Mall location. The app is free & available on the iTunes store and Android store.
This app was an obvious choice for this list, and is perfect for the shopper who doesn’t want to leave the comfort of their own home. The Amazon Mobile App allows iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Adroid users to quickly search, shop, compare prices, read reviews, and make purchases on Amazon on a simple and elegant interface. Use your saved wishlist or browse from millions of products from the palm of your hand. The app is free on on all available platforms.
4. Google Shopper
It’s a tough time for many shoppers, and why shouldn’t you get the best deal possible? With Google Shopper, which is available in the Android Market and iTunes App stores, allows you to instantly research products and find great deals when you’re on-the-go. Find products with your phone, get pricing and availability fast, and reviews by scanning barcodes and cover art. Even use your voice to search. The app is free.
5. The Deal Map
The Dealmap brings discounts from stores and restaurants across the country simply by searching by business category or deal type. With access to over 400,000 special offers, the Dealmap also includes promotional deals that don’t require a coupon. Just enter your zip code, and all the relevant locations and corresponding offers available immediately. Users can even submit deals they find while shopping, adding it to the database for other users to enjoy. The app is free and available in the iTunes store and the Android Market.
