Everett QB Named ESPN Boston’s “Mr. Football”
EVERETT – Quarterback Jonathan DiBiaso of the Everett Crimson Tide was named the ESPNBoston.com “Mr. Football” award. He was the second to be given the honor, chosen by a panel of experts from ESPNBoston.com as well as analysts from Scouts Inc.
DiBiaso was honored before yesterday’s Patriots-Colts game at Gillette Stadium along with his family. On hand to present DiBiaso with the award were Patriots Owner Robert Kraft, Hall of Famer and Patriots Executive Director of Community Affairs Andre Tippett, and University of West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen.
DiBiaso led the Tide to a second straight Super Bowl title Saturday, while also setting teh state single-season record of 44 touchdown passes. He finishes his career with 103 touchdowns and 7,052 passing yards, both state records.
This is the second consecutive year an Everett athlete has been named Mr. Football. Wide receiver Matt Costellow was its inaugural recipient last year.
