Progress made on new park in Everett

EVERETT – The city plans to create a small community park on the vacant property at 68 Main St., Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. recently announced. The lot had been the site of a six-unit apartment building, which was severely damaged in a 2007 fire, and the property was subsequently acquired by the city through a tax title foreclosure. DeMaria decided to convert it into a park, after concluding the area needed more open space.
