Tickets to Historic Sailing Aboard Friendship of Salem Now Available

SALEM – Don’t miss your chance to take part in a historic sailing of the National Park Service tall ship, the Friendship of Salem. The event, to be held on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, is just the second commercial-passenger outing aboard the Friendship.

The adventure is scheduled as part of the ships participation in the Gloucester Schooner Festival over the Labor Day weekend.

Tickets for the exclusive event are current on sale by the Essex National Heritage Commission both online or over the phone by calling (978) 740-0444.

The ship will set sail on Saturday, September 3 for a round-trip adventure that will depart and return to Gloucester. Snacks and lunch with the crew will be provided by the Ship’s cook!

On Sunday, the Friendship will take part in the festival’s Parade of Sail and watch other schooners take part in the Mayor’s Race, and depart Gloucester to return back home to its berth at Derby Wharf, Salem. Participants will enjoy a coastal tour as well as interpreted maritime history as they enjoy a bit of life by the sea. All passengers will receive Friendship of Salem logo’d baseball cap.

Tickets cost $250 per person while Essex Heritage members will receive a discounted rate of $200 per person. Essex Heritage members.
