Potter Climax Both Exhilirating and Satisying
It all ends. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is the climax of a worldwide phenomenon and plausibly the most anticipated movie in cinema history. It’s certainly the final chapter in the childhood of the millions considered part of the Harry Potter generation, however, they need not be worried.
As a reader of the novels, it was no surprise what was going to happen at this climactic moment in the series, yet the film was still extremely exhilirating and satisfying.
For more than a decade, readers and moviegoers have been encapsulated by and obsessed with the fantastical wizarding world created by author J.K. Rowling. With each midnight release, whether in print or on-screen, millions have devoured everything Potter, leaving the final installment’s theatrical release crucial to the series’ legacy.
The film, which is inextricably linked to the novel, is filled with Rowling’s essence despite the occasional lapse of details deemed crucial by some Potter fans. Her themes of love, loyalty, and acceptance come to a head in Part 2, and further underscore the film’s superiority to its predecessors and its allure to an audience of all ages.
Chronicling Harry’s final battles with Lord Voldemort, the film is an emotionally charged, action-packed roller coaster that brings the audience even closer to the trio of young actors (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint) who’ve blossomed over their decade commitment to the series. The audience’s commitment and connection to the story’s three main heroes lies within their relentless pursuit of an end to the death and destruction dominating the world around them.
Alongside so many accomplished British actors in supporting roles, it is clear that our heroes are just a few of the many characters that have generated deep bonds by the audience, including even Ralph Fiennes’ reprise as the most evil wizard of all time, Lord Voldermort.
In effort to avoid revealing plot details, it’s safe to say that the screenwriter’s inclusion of the novel’s epilogue brings an ultimate resolution to both the film and the entire series, offering further explanation to questions about the future of the battle’s survivors that would have otherwise been posed.
While many hope Rowling writes future Potter-inspired stories, Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is undoubtedly a fitting ending to the story of the boy who lived, and is truly everything Potter fans want it to be.
