NoBo’s App of the Week

In keeping with our objective of thinking and living local, our choice for App of the Week allows users to create and experience unique narratives based on their current surroundings. Through the mobile social network, Trover, users will be able to experience an illuminated environment as they get outside this spring.

The app began as a Master of Fine Arts thesis project by a student attending Parsons, The New School for Design in New York City. The goal of the project was to collect original short films made by filmakers, artists, and storytellers about (or filmed in) specific areas of New York City.

Now, the platform can be used by any iPhone user to experience this vignette-like narrative while roaming their city, either viewing or collecting stories from other users, interpreting and experiencing the environment in new and meaningful ways.

Trover is simply fun. Snap a photo, post your discovery, and celebrate with your friends. It’s not your average social network.

Share your local discoveries with friends and other fellow explorers in a truly visual way by downloading the application from iTunes.
